Brickfield Music Fest a Success thanks to Prosound
Monday, 26th March 2012

This past weekend saw surprisingly few events happening around Johannesburg. Perhaps because on Saturday 24th March, one of the city’s quickest growing 1-day Festivals was going down at one of Jozi’s most revered and legendary venues: The Brickfields Music Festival at Carfax. And it couldn’t have been the success it was, without the presence of Prosound.

This year’s Brickfields included such hot live bands such as Shadowclub, Desmond & The Tutus, Hog Hoggity Hog, BLK JKS, Lark and more. With the EV and Midas Pro 2 systems in use, the engineers had an easy job of producing top quality sound for top quality acts, and the bands had nothing but good things to say. Says Shadowclub Drummer Isaac Klawansky:The sound at Brickfields 2012 was off the hook. Crystal clear but banging, on and off stage. Electro Voice makes a badass rig!”

On the Dubstep floor, Kid Fonque and Ambush (featuring Emcee Heavy G) were some of the favourites, and on the Drum & Bass floor, Niskerone (from Cape Town) and Science Frikshun’s Rude One ripped up the dancefloors. “The sound was monstrous!” describes Heavy G. “Seldom do you get such a rugged combination of bass output, and crystal clear monitoring, allowing you to hear yourself so clearly without any feedback.

But it was on the Toy Toy Stage where the Meyer M’elodie rig as well as the A/V setup from Prosound really made a killer impact. Digital Rockit, Killer Robot and Felix la Band all contributed to a thumping and top quality evening.
It is by far one of Johannesburg’s biggest growing 1-day events and with Prosound on board, it is evident that the Brickfield Festivals of the future are certainly something to look out for.
