Prosound (Pty) Ltd was established in 1973 by Terry Acres, now a veteran of the South African music and sound industry.
As a professional audio and lighting company we are involved in any and every aspect of sound and lighting. Prosound comprises of a number of departments including System Design & Engineering, consisting of four internationally recognized sound designers who have worked on a number of premier projects. Our Rental Division is the oldest aspect of Prosound and is the leading sound supplier in the theatre industry, as well as having provided quality technical services for live concerts, theatre and music events, and more, for over three decades. The Sales team consists of a team of experts, sound engineers and musicians themselves, who can answer any question and provide a solution to any problem.
Prosound's long history in the South African music industry has enabled us to work with international artists like The Rolling Stones, UB40, Bruce Springsteen, Ziggy Marley and Sting, as well as a wide range of local South African and African artists. A true honor to anyone as passionate about sound as we are!
Prosound LIVE is a concept formed around our passion for good quality audio. From the years of experience we have learnt that you can say what you want about a good quality piece of equipment, but when people hear the difference for themselves, that is what wins our products their biggest fans. Prosound LIVE is our demo room - where we put our EV and RCF PA through their paces, where we host gigs and DJ workshops, and where we show off our great products.
Various PA systems, DJ equipment and MI products can be demo'ed and discovered at Prosound Live. All equipment is available at all good music stores - please see our list of distributors for details.
